MTAQ actively promotes members' interests through the media.

MTAQ lobbies government on all levels to represent industry concerns and modify legislation to be more palatable to the industry.

Recent examples are as follows:

• Lobbying for changes to the Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act within Queensland specifically pertaining to requirements for premises for dealers
• Local government representation in regards to environmental and signage legislation
• Success at obtaining changes to requirements for statutory warranties
• Amendment to the non-refundable deposit and creation of a one working day cooling off period through the Office of Fair Trading
