Brisbane International Motorshow

Beginning in a modest fashion at the Wickham Terrace Car park, the show shifted to the Exhibition Grounds, where its popularity increased annually, the Brisbane International Motor Show has been acclaimed as a world class events.

In 1996, the organisers took a giant step forward by bringing the show into the heart of the city at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre at South Bank.  It has for some years been ranked as the largest event held at the Centre with displays occupying all available space – approximately 30,000 square metres – and one of the principal events on the Queensland entertainment calendar.

As well as attracting crowds it has continued its role as a successful marketing partnership between manufacturers, importers, distributors and franchised dealers.  The show is continually a sell out in terms of exhibit space and as any exhibitors will confirm, it pays to book early if you want to display your products at the show.

An outstanding feature of successive shows has been the specially chosen themes.  In recent years the spotlight has been on concept vehicles, exotic convertibles, unique vehicles, art and the automotive industry, and over a century of motoring and motorsport.  .

The much acclaimed “Aftermarket Alley” gives consumers a chance to view the latest and greatest in sound systems, aftermarket accessories and replacement parts.  A number of local motoring clubs are allocated space each year, which gives added interest to the event.
