Cannonball Willowbank
When the roar of finely tuned engines broke the silence of rural Willowbank, near Ipswich, on Sunday April 19, 1999, it marked the first of the annual MTA-Q Cannonball Family Day.
This year's events was held on May 21st 2006 and nearly 100 entries participated in the day. The smell of burning rubber and the sound of high reviving engines permeated over Willowbank as over 100 members took part in this annual Cannonball event at Willowbank raceway, racing against the clock and each other to see who could clock the fastest time.
The MTA-Q’s Cannonball was again a very successful and well-organised event with a pot-pourri of vehicles ranging from the latest models to purpose built racing cars and motorcycles. All participants and spectators agreed that it was an action-packed day.
2006 winner and runner up of the various categories were:

Race Car: Ricky Steffens driving a HZ Monaro was the winner. Michael Bailey in a Holden Gemini was the runner-up.

Street Car: Neil Tschutura driving a Commodore VB won this category with his wife Christine in a BA Falcon the runner-up.

Work Ute: Johnathan Cherry in a Holden HSV Maloo Ute won this category. Jason Parsons in his Toyota HiLux was the runner-up.

Motorcycle: Andrew Little riding a Yamaha Y2F-R1 took out this category with Michael George also on a Yamaha was the runner-up.

Denis Ryan in his Torana had the best reaction time of. 407sec.
