MTA-Queensland is the peak organisation in the State representing the specific interests of 2,500 businesses in the retail, repair and service sectors of Australia’s automotive industry.
It is an industrial association of employers incorporated pursuant to the Industrial Relations Act of Queensland and registered as such since1949.
The Association represents and promotes the issues of the automotive industries to all levels of government within Queensland’s economic framework.
Automotive value chain policy issues are diverse and complex necessitating a unified approach to ensure consistency. Through its affiliation with the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) and Tasmanian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (TACC), the Association has a national presence in Canberra to lobby federal bodies and Canberra based regulators on national topics.
The Association’s submissions to all levels of Government may be reviewed on the MTA-Queensland website via the link from “News and Advocacy”.
MTA-Queensland is also committed to actively promote members’ interests through the media and to be recognised by all sectors of the media as the authoritative source on automotive industry matters. The Association’s official spokesperson is the Principal Policy Director, whose charter includes keeping members and the public informed on all related automotive matters.
In Queensland, the automotive trade’s value chain generates in excess of an estimated $16 billion annually, directly employs more than 60,000 people and contributes significantly to both the state and national economy.
