Member Benefits

Being a member of the Motor Trades Association of Queensland allows your input into the future productivity and profitability of your industry.

There are many ways in which you can make a contribution.  Among the most valuable and important is participation at divisional committee level, by representing one of the Association’s regions and, ultimately, election to the board of management.

Many of those who have participated in the Association’s affairs in this way have been rewarded with Life Membership.

Technical Information Service
MTA-Q provides technical advice using resources from our extensive library.

Publications Department
MTA-Q generates industry magazines for our members but also offers competitive print and creative services.

MTA-Q offers stationery tailored to the motor trades industry that make doing business easier!

Training Department
We are now the largest automotive trainer in Queensland, MTA-Q offers nationally recognised training to all areas of the Retail Motor Trades Industry.

Industry Representation
MTA-Q Actively promotes members' interests through the media.

MTA-Q lobbies government on all levels to represent industry concerns and modify legislation to be more palatable to the industry.

Recent examples are as follows:

  • Lobbying for changes to the Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act within Queensland specifically pertaining to requirements for premises for dealers
  • Local government representation in regards to environmental and signage legislation
  • Success at obtaining changes to requirements for statutory warranties
  • Amendment to the non-refundable deposit and creation of a one working day cooling off period through the Office of Fair Trading

MTA-Q has also established many business partners which members can utilise and receive special discounts because they are an MTA-Q member.
