MTA Queensland thrilled to sponsor NAWIC
The Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTA Queensland) is thrilled to be sponsoring the Tradeswomen Australia Conference held on the 8th to 9th of March 2018. The Tradeswomen Australia Conference is run by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) a non-for-profit organisation whose mission is to champion and empower women in the construction and related industries to reach their full potential.
NAWIC provides members with a forum to meet and exchange ideas and have a target of 11% of women working in frontline roles in industry, a significant increase from the current 3%. MTA Queensland are strong supporters of the initiatives and vision that NAWIC represent and encourage women in the automotive industry to become involved.
Louise Azzopardi is a presenter at the Conference and a highly accomplished Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. She has achieved ‘best work practices’ in her first and second year and second overall in her third. Louise received a Silver medal at the Illawarra Regional World Skills Comp and a Gold medal in the Australia National Worldskills Comp. She received a Medallion of Excellence at Abu Dhabi International Worldskills Comp and a High Achievement HVIA National Apprentice of the Year Awards.
Louise said, “I’m excited to share my experiences and hear the experiences of other tradeswomen at the 2nd Australian Trades Women Conference.”
Along with trademark events such as The Tradeswomen Australia Conference, NAWIC provides regular events with gives members an opportunity to expand personal and business networks, maintain awareness of industry developments, improve skills and knowledge, and make a contribution to other women in the construction industry.
