New system for fuel seller reporting for Qld biofuels mandate

On 27 February 2018, the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DNRME) (formerly the Department of Energy and Water Supply) contacted all registered Queensland fuel sellers, to advise of upcoming changes to the way in which they register and report under the Queensland biofuels mandate.

To support fuel sellers with reporting requirements under the biofuels mandate, DNRME has developed a new self-service web-based portal that will enable fuel sellers to maintain and update business information and submit quarterly and annual reports more efficiently, and in real time.

All fuel sellers that have previously reported on a quarterly or annual basis since the mandate commenced should receive an email invitation to access the portal through a unique link.

The portal will open on 1 March 2018, for fuel sellers to access the portal and confirm and update their fuel seller information as necessary. Fuel sellers will be able to update and manage their information in the portal on an ongoing basis.

There will be no changes to quarterly and annual reporting requirements, and all fuel sales reports will now be submitted through the portal.  Reporting for fuel sales from 1 January to 31 March 2018, will open in the portal from 1 April 2018 and close on 30 April 2018.

To assist fuel sellers in transitioning to the portal, the department has developed an online Fuel Seller User Guide, and a number of tutorial videos demonstrating a range of functions in the portal.

The Business Queensland and departmental websites will also be updated and provide links to both of these resources.

As always, departmental assistance is available to fuel sellers by calling 13 43 87 or email:
